Officers from Patrol Services arrested a 27-year-old male on outstanding warrants for domestic matters. It is alleged that the male assaulted his girlfriend on July 30 by grabbing her and taking her iPod. The male has been charged with one count of assault, one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation. He will appear in WASH court on August 1.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m. on August 1 multiple 911 calls were received by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service regarding a fire on Tower Street. Patrol officers and Fire Services attended on scene. Officers from Investigation Services have been called to assist with the investigation. Tower Street has been closed. Please avoid the immediate area adjacent to the fire. No further details are being released at this time.
