Police charged one person with robbery after a victim was bitten and had their wallet stolen on Great Northern Road on Oct. 24.

Officers responded to the robbery in the 700 block of Great Northern Road at approximately 9:30 p.m.

"An investigation revealed the accused had bit someone known to them and stolen their wallet," says a news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. "The victim sustained minor physical injuries."

As a result of this investigation, 38-year-old Jonathan Penrice was arrested on Nov. 1 and charged with robbery.

Penrice is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 13.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
