One person is facing charges after a robbery over the weekend.

Sault Ste. Marie Police were called to the 200 block of McNabb Street at around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday.

Arriving officers found a suspect already in the custody of security officers.

“An investigation revealed the accused had pushed and spat on a security officer when confronted about leaving the business with items they had not paid for,” police said in a news release.

When officers took custody of the accused, they say the suspect resisted by pulling his arms away, then tried to kick and grab officers.

Police say the accused also spit on an officer after arriving at the Police Services Building.

Aiden Bull, 20, has been charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Assault Peace Officer

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
