UPDATE: Police conclude investigation in West End

No one was charged

2:16 p.m. update: Sault Police officers have concluded their investigation and no one has been charged, according to a news release issued at 2:13 p.m. Police thanked community members for their cooperation.

2:05 p.m. update: Sault Police officers have left the scene after three people and a dog were removed from a residence at the corner of Cathcart Street and John Street. SooToday will have more on this incident as information becomes available.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has a significant number of officers in the 200 block of Cathcart Street. 

Traffic is blocked off as officers investigate an incident in the area.

Multiple officers are currently on Cathcart with long guns drawn. Police have escorted three people from a house.

“Community members are urged to take alternate routes if they are travelling in the area. Further details will be released as they become available,” police said in a news release.
