The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is advising the public of the following road closures on Saturday July 16, 2022, to facilitate the annual Rotary Community Day Parade.

Starting at 9:30 a.m. Queen Street East will be closed from Churchill Boulevard to Church Street. This area will be used as a staging area for the parade and will be closed until 1 p.m.

In addition, lower Church St will be closed at 9:30am, re-opening to traffic at 12:00 p.m. The parade route, Queen Street East from Church Street to Gore Street will be closed at 10:30 a.m. and will re-open at 1 p.m. upon the completion of the parade.

To keep the parade route free from obstructions, there will be no parking on Queen Street East from Church Street to Andrew Street starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

At 1 p.m. this temporary parking restriction will be lifted, and vehicles will be allowed to lawfully park in the area

Any vehicle found on the parade route after 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning will be towed from the area.

Residents should expect traffic delays in the downtown core for the duration of the parade. There will be an increase in the number of pedestrians in the area as well, and we urge motorists to be vigilant and drive with caution when making their way to the parade route.

We want everyone to have a safe and happy Rotaryfest weekend, thank you for your cooperation.
