Prohibited knife seized after traffic pylons stabbed

A prohibited knife was seized when Sault Ste. Marie Police responded to a report of someone stabbing traffic pylons.

Police were called to the 200 block of McNabb Street just before 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7.

Arriving officers arrested a suspect and say a search turned up a concealed, prohibited knife.

Garrett Augustin, 29, has been charged with:

  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order x5
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
