Police test driver after parked car collision on Northland Rd.

The midnight incident prompted a call to 9-1-1 by the owner of the parked vehicle

Sault Police say the driver of a vehicle that collided with another vehicle parked on a Northland Rd. driveway was impaired by alcohol.

The owners of the parked vehicle called 9-1-1 around midnight last night. 

Police say officers determined the accused was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash and developed grounds to believe the person's ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Two samples tested via an approved screening device were above the legal limit, say police. 

Gopakumar Viyyokaran, 42, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80+).

They were releaased on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court in July, say police.
