A man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking after officers located a bag of suspected oxycodone tablets during a traffic stop yesterday afternoon in the area of Andrew Street and Manilla Terrace.
The bag, which police observed the accused throw into a bush during the stop, contained approximately 216 tablets valued at $2,160, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said in a news release.
Sixty-year-old Lawrence Steinberg stands charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 8.
