On Dec. 31, 2018 offices with the Break and Enter Unit of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 32-year-old Tyler Seaton of Albert Street East on an outstanding warrant for possession of stolen property.
It is alleged that on Oct. 26, 2018 the accused and a second male, 32-year-old Thomas Kidder of Sault Ste. Marie were in possession of a .22 calibre rifle that was reported stolen from a break and enter earlier in October. It is further alleged that Mr. Kidder was in possession of other pieces of property that were reported stolen from a number of other break and enters.
A warrant was requested for both males and Mr. Seaton was taken into custody on Dec. 31, 2018. He has been charged with:
- One count of possession of stolen property,
- One count of unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- One count of possession of a firearm knowing it’s possession is unauthorized,
- Two counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition contrary to a court order, and;
- One count of possession of a firearm obtained by crime.
He was held for WASH court.
Mr. Kidder is currently wanted for multiple offences including;
- Six counts of possession of stolen property,
- Careless storage of a firearm,
- One count of unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- One count of possession of a firearm knowing it’s possession is unauthorized,
- Two counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition contrary to a court order, and;
- One count of possession of a firearm obtained by crime.
