Police say man threatened to kill woman, child

On Feb. 27, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 36-year-old male in relation to a Domestic Violence Incident.

It is alleged that on Feb. 24, 2017 the accused engaged in an argument with his ex-partner. The accused blocked the doorway not allowing the victim to leave and also threatened to kill the victim and her child. 

The victim was able to run out of the residence and the accused ran after her. It is further alleged that once the accused caught up to the victim he pulled her by the hair, put her in a head lock and punched her in the head.

The victim was able to escape and contacted police. As a result, the accused has been charged with one count of assault, one count of forcible confinement, one count of breach of probation and 2 counts of uttering threats. He will appear in bail court today.
