On Monday, Sault Police officers charged a 21-year-old man with assault after an incident took place in the 400 block of Northern Avenue at around 1:30 p.m.

Police say an investigation revealed the accused had struck someone known to them with an open hand, causing minor physical injuries.

Officers arrested the accused at his residence, charging him with assault.
