Police arrest suspect in relation to Albert West homicide

27-year-old is now facing multiple charges, including second degree murder and weapon possession

Police have arrested the suspect in connection with the Albert Street West homicide investigation.

Jared Scott, 27, was found after officers responded to an unrelated call for service in the 0-100 block of Grandview Avenue on Dec. 17 around 3 a.m., police say. 

Scott is now facing multiple charges, including second degree murder and weapon possession.

On Dec. 17, 2022, officers with Patrol Services arrested 27-year-old Jared Scott in connection with the Albert Street West homicide investigation.

Around 3 a.m., officers responded to an unrelated call for service in the 0-100 block of Grandview Avenue. Upon responding, officers located the accused, and they were arrested on the strength of a warrant for second degree murder and other offences.

The accused is charged with:

  • Second degree murder
  • Possession of dangerous weapons 
  • Possession of loaded firearm
  • Pointing firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized
  • Fail to comply with condition of an undertaking
  • Fail to comply with condition of Judicial Release Order

The accused was held in custody pending a WASH court appearance.

The investigation is ongoing.
