Pedestrian charged after getting hit by vehicle on Great Northern Road: police

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is investigating a crash involving a pedestrian that happened around 5:20 a.m. this morning.

The crash happened in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road.

A pedestrian attempting to cross Great Northern Road was hit by a vehicle and suffered non-life-threatening physical injuries. They were taken to hospital.

The pedestrian was charged with disobeying a “don’t walk” signal under the Highway Traffic Act.

The driver of the vehicle was not physically injured.

Police are not releasing the identities of those involved.
