Drug Warrants Executed

On Dec. 31, 2016 officers with the Crime Suppression Unit (CSU) and Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested three individuals for drug related offences.

As a result of an ongoing investigation, CSU/DEU officers conducted a vehicle stop on Dec. 30 which resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of cocaine. Officers then executed Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrants at two east end locations with the assistance of the Emergency Services Unit.

During the search of the vehicle and locations officers located;

  • 1 kilogram of cocaine,
  • 1/4 pound of Cannabis Resin (Hash Oil),
  • 136 morphine pills,
  • 52 ritalin pills,
  • 40 dilaudid pills,
  • 75 oxycodone pills, and;
  • $18,000.00 cash

The street value of the cocaine is estimated at $60,000.00 while the street value of the Cannabis Resin and pills is estimated at $10,800.00. All three accused persons were taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. They will appear in bail court on Tuesday Jan. 3, 2017.   

At this point in time officers are continuing their investigation and further information will be released when it becomes available.
