One suspect in custody in relation to robbery investigation

SAULT STE. MARIE POLICE SERVICE

On Aug. 2, 2017 officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service’s Break and Enter Unit arrested 30-year-old Tyler Seaton of St. Georges Avenue in relation to a robbery.

It is alleged that on July 25, 2017 the accused attended a business in the 300 block of MacDonald Avenue with another male. The two males went into the business with their faces covered while carrying metal objects and demanding items from the staff.

Both accused persons fled the area after the robbery and police were contacted. Police were able to identify Mr. Seaton and he was taken into custody on Aug. 2, 2017. He has been charged with;
    •    One count of robbery,
    •    One count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
    •    One count of wearing a disguise; and,
    •    One count of possession of stolen property.

He was held for bail court and the investigation is continuing.
