Sault Police officers charged a 49-year-old Garden River woman with assault on Saturday.
On Sept. 28, police received a report of an assault in the 0-100 block of La Chaumiere Place.
"An investigation revealed the accused had been in a verbal argument with someone known to them and struck them twice," police said in a news release.
"The victim sustained minor physical injuries."
Police obtained a warrant to arrest the suspect. At around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, Sault Police were contacted by the Canada Border Services Agency who had the accused in custody.
Officers were dispatched to the CBSA where they arrested Jessica Roach, who was charged with assault.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 23.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
