City Police were busy this weekend responding to numerous calls including 23 motor vehicle collisions, 40 traffic stops, 24 noise complaints and 12 domestic disputes.
Charged with Criminal Harassment & Threatening Death or Bodily Harm
On the 7th of September 2006 a 33-year-old female made over 50 phone calls to her ex-husband’s home phone and cell phone. She made verbal threats towards his new girlfriend, her children and her ex-husband. On the 17th of September at approximately 6pm the accused attended at the station and was charged with 1 count of Criminal Harassment and 1 count of Threaten Death or Bodily Harm. The accused is to attend court on the 23rd of October.
Domestic Dispute
At approximately 8:30 pm on the 16th of September City Police responded to a domestic dispute in the east end of the city. A 38-year-old male has been charged with 1 count of Assault after he shoved his common-law wife onto a bed. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Breach, Dangerous Driving, & Threatening Death or Bodily Harm
A 32-year-old male will be attending bail court this morning after being charged with 1 count of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, 1 count of Threatening Death or Bodily Harm and 1 count of Breach of Probation Order. The accused made a phone call to his ex-wife and threatened to kill her. He also chased her in her vehicle while in his vehicle all the way to the Police Station. He then left the area. He was later arrested at a west end residence.
Impaired Driving
During a Ride Program on the 15th of September on Goulais Avenue a vehicle was observed stopping just prior to the Ride Check and turning around in a drive way. Police began to follow the vehicle, which was now driving away from the Ride Program. After a short pursuit the vehicle was stopped on Spadina Avenue and the driver was arrested. Charged with 1 count of Impaired Driving is 31-year-old John Paul Carter of 67 Spruce Street. The accused is to appear in court on the 23rd of October.
Charged with Dangerous Driving & Resisting Arrest
26-year-old Francis Provost of Boucherville Quebec was charged after fleeing a Ride Program on Pim Street on the 16th of September. The accused was driving a 1998 Acura, license plate # 495QYL. The accused evaded Police while operating his vehicle and refused to stop for emergency lights and sirens. After a short pursuit the vehicle was stopped on Pim Street. The accused then refused to get out of his vehicle and resisted Police. The accused was eventually tasered and hand cuffed. He has been charged with 1 count of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and 1 count of Resist Police Officers. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Charged with Break & Enter

Just after 1 am this morning officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a 911 call in the 100 block of Breton Road. It is alleged that 2 males forced their way into a residence in this area and the male homeowner received minor injuries that did not require medical treatment at the time. It is alleged that the male suspects had their faces covered. It is further alleged that one of the accused persons had a knife. The suspects fled the area and nothing was taken in the incident. Officers from Investigation Services were called out and are continuing their investigation into this matter. 21-year-old Trevor George Seaton of 364 Albert Street West has been charged with 1 count of Break and Enter, 1 count of Robbery and 1 count of Assault with a Weapon in relation to a Home Invasion, which took place on June 28th. The accused remains in custody and is to appear in bail court this morning.
Impaired Driving & Consume Over the Legal Limit
48-year-old David Lillie of 331 Cathcart Street has been charged with 1 count of Impaired Driving And 1 count of Consume Over the Legal Limit. He will be appearing in court on the 23 of October. The accused was operating a 2000 Solara license # AYTM 057 Through Canada Customs just after 2am on the 17th of September. The accused was taken into custody by Customs Officers and held for Police.
Mischief under $5000, Inlawfully in a Dwelling House, Threatening Death or Bodily Harm & Breach
City Police arrested 52-year-old Linda Karchie of 760 Wellington Street East unit #3 on the 17th of September. It’s believed that on the 15th of September the accused attended at a downtown residence and caused damage to a door lock. On the 16th of September the accused attended at the same residence, entered without permission and threatened to assault the resident who is known to her. Linda Karchie has been charged with 1 count of Mischief under $5000, 1 count of Unlawfully in a Dwelling House, 1 count of Threatening Death or Bodily Harm and 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order. The accuse will be appearing in Bail Court this morning.
