Male Arrested for Possession of Dangerous Weapon, Breaching Release Order and Mischief

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 54 year-old Paul Faubert of 44 Riverin Avenue on the 14th of October at 5:33 pm on Queen Street East and charged him with one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public, one count of breach of a release document, one count of intoxicated in a public place and one count of mischief under $5,000.

It is alleged that on the 14th of October officers received a call to the Pim Street area regarding an intoxicated male with an axe, causing a disturbance and damaging property in the rear yard of a person known to him. Officers arriving in the area located the male walking on Queen Street East in an intoxicated state and arrested him without incident. At the time of his arrest he was found in possession of two knives, and when officers ran a check on him, they also discovered that the accused was on an undertaking order with conditions that he not consume any alcohol.

While the accused was in custody at the police station, he flooded the cell area by shoving his clothes and blanket in the toilet and also spat and urinated all over the walls. As a result he was charged with mischief. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Domestic Related Arrests

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 46 year-old male on the 15th of October at 9:10 pm and charged him with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of threatening death or bodily harm, one count of choking one count of mischief.

It is alleged that the accused held a knife to the throat of his ex-girlfriend while at her residence and threatened to kill her. Further the accused assaulted and choked the victim causing non-life threatening injuries to her, smashed her phone when she tried to call 911 and damaged her television remote and laptop computer. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 22 year-old female on Friday evening and charged her with two counts of assault, one count of mischief and one count of breach of a release document.

It is alleged that on the 14th of October at 6:40 pm officers received a call to a residence regarding a female causing a disturbance and assaulting her parents. Officers attended and discovered that the female got into a verbal dispute with her parents, assaulted them and also damaged their vehicle when she struck it with a hockey stick. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

Impaired Driving Related Arrests

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Service arrested 60 year-old Evelyn Belsito of 382 Sydenham Road on the 16th of October at 1:49 am at Canada Customs on Huron Street and charged her with one count of consume over the legal limit and one count of driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available under the Liquor Licence Act.

It is alleged that on the 16th of October at approximately 1:34 am police attended at Canada Customs on Huron Street regarding the accused being in custody for consuming over the legal limit. The accused was given a roadside screening device test by customs officers and registered a fail. Police also learned that the accused had an open bottle of liquor in-between her legs while she was driving.

The accused was taken into custody and brought to the police station where she failed the breathalyzer test. She is to appear in court on the 21st of November.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 62 year-old Robert Kennedy of 68 Wilcox Avenue on the 16th of October at 7:25 pm and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 16th of October at approximately 7 pm the accused was arrested by Canada Customs officers for impaired driving and police were called.

Officers attended, arrested and took the accused into custody and brought him to the police station. The accused was given a breathalyzer test and failed. He is to appear in count on the 21st of November.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 38 year-old Isreal Neveau of 102 Mission Road Goulais River, Ontario on the 16th of October at the police station on an outstanding warrant and charged him with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. The accused is to appear in court on the 21st of November.

RIDE Program Results

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service conducted a RIDE Program on Friday evening. There were 140 vehicles checked. One breath test and one roadside test were administered and one arrest was made for consuming over the legal limit. One Provincial Offence notice was also issued.

Break and Enter/Theft Reports

• A shed on Forest Avenue was broken into and a snow blower was reported stolen.
• A Red Diamond Back mountain bike was stolen from Country Club Place.
• Vehicles on Creekside Lane and Alberta Ave. were entered on the 16th of October. Coins, a utility and a buck knife were reported stolen.

Mischief Reports

• A vehicle on Chartwell Drive and one in a parking lot on McNabb Street were keyed.
• A lawn was damaged on Melville Road by a vehicle driving all over it.
• A vehicle on Willow Avenue had a window smashed when a bottle being thrown at it Friday evening.
