Arrested for Throwing Food

A 40-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested on the 14th of October. It is alleged that in the afternoon on that date the accused was at a local business and his ex-wife was also in present at the same location. It is alleged that the two of them got into a verbal argument and that the accused threw some food at the female striking her in the face. Police were called and the accused was subsequently charged with one count of assault.

Outstanding Warrents, Breach, Property Obtained in a Crime

25-year old Christina Wesley of 1-320 Albert Street East was arrested on two outstanding warrants for one count of one count of property obtained by crime, one count of breach of probation and one count of fail to appear for court/fingerprints. At the time of the arrest the accused was on a release order with conditions not to consume alcohol. The accused was subsequently charged with one count of breach of a release order. She will appear in bail court this morning.

Public Mischief

60-year old Ronald Richard Strain of no fixed address was arrested and charged on the 14th of October with one count of public mischief. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Station after indicating he was responsible for a homicide in the Toronto area that occurred in the 1960’s. Officers from Investigation Services were contacted and began an investigation. Contact was also made with Toronto Police Services who advised that there had been no such homicide. The accused will appear in bail court this morning.

Impaired Driving, Among Other Charges

29-year old James Nageleisen of 102-844 Queen Street East was arrested and charged just after midnight on the 15th of October with one count of impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit, one count of fail to remain at an accident, one count of public mischief and one count of operated motor vehicle while disqualified-court order. It is alleged that on the 14th of October the accused was involved in a motor vehicle collision on Bay Street near Spring Street. A vehicle operated by a 24-year old male was westbound on Bay Street. The accused was also driving a van westbound on Bay Street when it is alleged that he swerved and collided with the other vehicle. It is alleged that the accused then fled the scene. No one was injured in the collision. It is further alleged that the accused then returned to his residence and reported that his vehicle had been stolen. The investigation into the collision led officers to believe that the accused was indeed the driver and that the van had not been stolen. When officers were speaking with the accused they noted that there was an odour of an alcoholic beverage on the accused. He was subsequently arrested and charged. Mr. Nagaleisen will appear in court on November 20th.

Youth Charged with Assault with a Weapon

A 13-year old youth will appear in court on November 21st. It is alleged that on the 14th of October in the evening hours the accused became involved in an argument with another youth in the downtown area. It is alleged that the accused put a pocketknife to the throat of the other youth. The youth was not harmed. The accused has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon.

Women Charged with Assault

35-year old Ann Marie See of 104 Anna Street has been charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 14th of October the accused was at a local business and was upset with another female who was also at the business. It is alleged that the accused assaulted the female victim by pushing her. The accused will appear in court on November 13th.

Theft Under $5000

35-year old Clifford Neveau of 4-2 Albert Street West was arrested on the 13th of October and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on that date the accused attended at R. J.’s Market on Wellington Street West and left the store with an unpaid for package of chicken. The accused was stopped by store security and turned over to City Police. He will appear in court on November 20th.

City Police received a number of reports of break and enters over the weekend:

1) At approximately 3:30 am on the 14th of October Queensgate Greens was Trunk Road was broken into. Nothing was taken during the break and enter.

2) On the 14th of October just before 7 am Microage Computer Centres on Great Northern Road was broken into. A number of computers, lap top computers and Xbox 360 game systems were taken. Two suspects are responsible for this break and enter. Both are males and were wearing dark clothing. One was slightly taller than the other and had a white “v” on the back of his jacket. The other male is shorter and stockier.

3) Sometime between 2 am and 11 am on the 14th of October a residence in the 200 block of Albert Street East was entered and a Playstation 2 was taken.

4) On the 15th of October Korah Collegiate located on Goulais Avenue was broken into just before 4:30 am. Unknown suspects stole some computer equipment.

5) A home on Alexandra Street was entered sometime overnight between the 14th and 15th of October. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken.

6) On the 15th of October just after 10 pm Zone Sportswear on Great Northern Road was entered and an unknown quantity of Spyder paintball guns were taken.

Vehicles being Vandilized

There were 5 reports of vehicles being spray painted in the east end over night between the 14th and 15th of October. The vehicles were on Carlbert Street, Chambers Avenue and Denwood Drive. Two males were seen in the area of one of the incidents on Carlbert Street, but there is no description of them.
