Assault with weapon 19 year old Brandon Simpson of Heyden Ontario was arrested by School liason officers on November the 5th for asssault with a weapon.

19 year old Brandon Simpson of Heyden Ontario was arrested by School liason officers on November the 5th for asssault with a weapon. It is alleged  on November the 1st Simpson struck his victim with a lock wrapped in a bandana outside of a Centrally located High School. The victim did not receive serious injuries.Simpson will attend Provincial Court on the 3rd of December.

Stolen utility trailer

A utility trailer was reported stolen to City Police on this date. It is believed t he trailer was stolen on November 1st.

Pedestrian-Motor Vehicle Collision

Officers with the Traffic Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are currently investigating a single motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.   A pedestrian reported being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Second Line West, just East of Goulais Ave at about 7:40 this morning.   The pedestrian was struck from behind causing him to land on the hood of the vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle stopped and spoke with the pedestrian, making sure he was ok, and the two then left the scene.   It was later found that the pedestrian had minor non-life threatening injuries.  Officers would like to speak to the driver of the motor vehicle in order to complete the report.   Anyone with any information regarding the driver of the vehicle involved, or anyone who potentially witnessed this collision is asked to contact an officer with traffic services.

Update: Armed Robbery at Hess Jewellers

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Division are still investigating an armed Robbery that occurred at 5:30 p.m. on October 31st at Hess Jewellers in the Churchill Plaza.  Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the two suspects in relation to this incident.  To view a video of the suspects during the robbery please visit facebook.com/ssmpolice.  Anyone with information as to the identity of these two persons is asked to contact Detective Constable Armstrong at (705) 949 6300 ext. 262 or Detective Constable Macleod at ext. 282.

Arrest:

On November 4, 2012 at approximately 10 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Maple Street regarding a possible break and enter in progress.  On attending found a male in the front yard of a residence. A check of the male was done and it was found that there was an outstanding warrant for failing to attend for finger prints.  The accused was arrested on the warrant and a further charge of being intoxicated in a public place was laid.  The accused Rock Trudeau age 21 of 633 Pine Street will appear in court on December 3, 2012 at 9:00am.

Break and Enter:

On November 4, 2012 a male entered a residence in the 100 block of Wilcox Avenue.  The male was confronted by the complainant and was chased to the area of Gore Street.  The male was last seen carrying a lap top and cigarettes.

Theft:

On November 4, 2012 approximately 10:47pm a vehicle was entered in the area of Selby Road.  Change was taken from the center consol. No suspects.

$50,000 Reward for infomation in Petrie Homicide:

The Government of the Province of Ontario is offering a total reward of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Todd Alan PETRIE, age 48, at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, on or about February 27, 2011.

The victim in this case, Todd Alan PETRIE, lived in the upstairs apartment located at 142 Albert Street East in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

On February 27, 2011, the victim was found murdered inside his home. PETRIE lived alone in his upstairs apartment and was a well known individual in the downtown area of Sault Ste. Marie.

PETRIE was a security conscious person. Police believe that he may have known his killer(s) and let them into his apartment.

The Ontario Provincial Police and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are currently conducting a joint investigation into this homicide.

Investigators urge any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for the murder of Todd Alan PETRIE to immediately contact the Director of the Ontario Provincial Police Criminal Investigation Services at 1-888-310-1122 or (705) 329-6111, the Sault Ste.
