The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service laid 135 charges last week under the Highway Traffic Act. These charges were for a variety of offences in various locations in the city. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service experienced a quiet past 24 hours.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service experienced a quiet past 24 hours. Officers arrested one person for being intoxicated in a public place, apprehended another person under the Mental Health Act and arrested a third for an assault. This person was subsequently released when police learned the assault was consensual. From early Sunday morning the Police Service made two arrests.

RESISTING ARREST
Yesterday morning at 2:50 am, patrol officers were called to a Ferguson Ave. apartment for a loud noise complaint. While speaking with a tenant in the hallway, a fight erupted inside of the apartment.

While attempting to break up the fight Michael Boyer, age 20 of 869 Peoples Rd., resisted arrest. The accused was arrested for breach of the peace and charged with resist arrest. No injures were reported and the accused will appear in court on December 8th.

MARIHUANA FOUND
Also yesterday morning at 12:20 am Robert Day, age 41 of Garden River was arrested on McNabb Street by patrol officers for an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for prints.

A search of Day subsequently revealed a plastic bag containing a small amount of suspected marihuana. The accused has been charged with Failing to Appear for Prints and Possession of a Controlled Drug. He will appear in court on December 8th.

HOME BREAK IN
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated one break in from yesterday. Shortly after 6:00 pm a resident of Anna Street advised police that their home had been entered. Police are still determining what is missing.

REMINDER ABOUT WINTER PARKING
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service wishes to remind the public that calendar parking, from November 1st to March 31st, is now in effect. Vehicles cannot lawfully be parked on city streets between the hours of 12:00 am and 6:00 am.

Vehicles left parked on city streets during those hours are liable to receive a parking ticket for $15.00. Please ensure that you do not park your car or truck on the roadways between these times.
