Four persons to appear in bail court On May 30th at approx. 3:00 am city police arrested 18-year-old Thomas Agawa, of no fixed address and charged him with two counts of theft under $ 5,000 and three counts of breach of probation.

On May 30th at approx. 3:00 am city police arrested 18-year-old Thomas Agawa, of no fixed address and charged him with two counts of theft under $ 5,000 and three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that at approx.2:50 am the accused entered the Mac’s mart Store on Gore St. and stole an ice cream bar. It is further alleged that on April 6th the accused entered the Mac’s Mart on Gore St. and stole approx. $15.00 worth of merchandise. At the time of these offences Mr. Agawa was on a probation order release with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

On Friday May 28th at approx. 5:00 pm city police arrested a 38-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault and one count of threatening death. It is alleged that earlier in the day the accused assaulted his girlfriend by pushing her down and striking her in the face. He is further alleged to have threatened to kill her. The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

At approx. 11:30 pm on Friday May 28th city police were called to the McDonald’s Restaurant on Trunk Rd. regarding a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival officers discovered that one of the drivers involved was under the influence of alcohol. It is alleged that Robert Elliott, age 35, of 254 Dacey Rd. Apt # 6, was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. It is further alleged that the accused breached conditions of a recognizance release order by consuming alcohol and by not residing where directed. Mr. Elliott is charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of drive over 80 mgs and two counts of breach of recognizance.

On Saturday May 29th at approx.3:50 am city police arrested a 21-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault and one count of mischief. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law-girlfriend by pushing and throwing her to the ground. It is further alleged that on May 18th the accused assaulted the victim by grabbing a large kitchen knife and cutting her on the arms and while doing so threatened to kill her. The victim suffered minor cuts to her arms but did not attend for medical attention.

Persons arrested for impaired driving

On Saturday May 29th at approx. 4:10 am city police arrested 21-year-old Matthew Sloss, of 16 Root River Trailer Park, on one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80 mgs. It is alleged that the accused was observed by officers driving on Great Northern Rd. at a high rate of speed north. His vehicle was stopped and he was discovered to be under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Sloss will be appearing in court on July 5th at 9:00 am.

On Sunday May 20th city police arrested 37-year-old Nicole Morningstar, of 32 Blucher St. on one count of impaired driving and one count of fail to provide breath sample. It is alleged that at approx. 4:00 am the accused was seen driving a motor vehicle on Blucher St. and failed to stop for the stop sign at Albert St. E. When the accused was stopped by the officers it was observed that she was under the influence of alcohol. The accused was taken to the police station for a breathalyzer test which it is alleged she refused to take. The accused will be appearing in court on July 5th at 9:00 am.

Property Crimes

Break and enter


A residence in the 100 block of Spring St. was entered. Several bottles of alcohol were stolen.

Fire
A dumpster fire was reported in the 200 block of Queen St. E.

Mischief

Plants and shrubs were damaged in the 600 block of McNabb St. and in the 500 block of Trunk Rd. Patio furniture was damaged in the 100 block of Weldon Ave. A garage was spray painted in the 500 block of Shannon Rd. A vehicle was damaged in the 100 block of Birch St. A window was smashed in the 100 block of Queen St. E.

Theft

Bicycles were stolen from the 100 block of Princeton Dr and the 100 block of Central St. Electronics, wallets, and purses were reported stolen from vehicles in the 100 block of E. Balfour St, the 100 and 200 blocks of Second Line W. the 200 block of Borden Ave., the 300 block of Great Northern Rd., the of 100 block of Nino Dr., the 100 block of Pozzebon Cr. and the 300 block of Wellington St. W.
Construction material was stolen from the 400 block of MacDonald Ave.
