DOMESTIC ASSAULTS A 24 year-old local man was arrested on Saturday morning and charged with assault following a domestic dispute. The man is alleged to have struck the victim in the face.
DOMESTIC ASSAULTS

A 24 year-old local man was arrested on Saturday morning and charged with assault following a domestic dispute. The man is alleged to have struck the victim in the face. The accused male will appear in bail court this morning at 10:00 am. No injuries were reported in this incident. The male is also charged with breach of probation.

A domestic assault on Saturday afternoon resulted in a 27 year-old male being charged with break and enter and assault. The male is alleged to have broken into the victim’s house in the city’s west end and once inside the accused assaulted the victim by punching and pushing the victim to the floor. The man is scheduled to appear in bail court this morning.

CANADA CUSTOMS STOPS MICHIGAN MAN

22 year-old Gabrielle Williamson of Sault Ste. Marie Michigan was arrested at Canada Customs on Saturday evening and charged with operating a motor vehicle having consumed over 80 mg.

Williamson is alleged to have been stopped at Canada Customs where it was determined that he was operating his vehicle while his ability to do so was impaired. Breath tests conducted at the city police station resulted in the accused being charged with over 80mg. Williamson is scheduled to appear in court on May 31st.

K9 UNIT CALLED IN

21 year-old Corey Peplow was arrested and charged with impaired driving, over 80 mg, fail to stop at the scene of an accident and breach of probation following a single vehicle accident early Saturday morning. Peplow is alleged to have been driving on Creery Avenue when he lost control of the car and went into a ditch. Upon exiting the ditch he drove the vehicle into a driveway and struck a garage door causing the door to fall on the vehicle parked inside the garage.

The occupants of the vehicle then fled the scene but patrol officers with the assistance of the K9 unit located the accused a short distance away. The Peplow vehicle is reported to have been demolished in the accident while the parked vehicle received minor damage. Mr. Peplow is scheduled to appear in court on June 7th.

YOUNG OFFENDER IMPAIRED CHARGES

A young offender was arrested and charged with impaired driving, over 80 mg, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance after a vehicle stop on Second Line West early Saturday morning. Subsequent to the arrest for impaired driving a search of the accused revealed that the young person was in possession of a stolen health card and a small baggie containing what is believed to be cocaine. A court date of June the 8th has been scheduled.

CANADA CUSTOMS TO THE RESCUE AGAIN

27 year –old Neil Turner of Ruby Michigan was charged with impaired driving and over 80 mg on Saturday morning as a result of being checked at Canada Customs. Customs officers notified City police officers after they had stopped the vehicle. Patrol officers arrested and transported Mr. Turner who is alleged to have been impaired at the time, to the city police station. Mr. Turner is scheduled to appear in court on June 7th.
