Six People To Appear In Bail Court This Morning

1. Arthur Charette, age 18, 83 Smale Ave. It is alleged that on Saturday May 13th the accused did assault two persons known to him by punching and spitting on them. The victims did not require medical attention for their injuries. Mr. Charette is charged with two counts of Assault.

2. A 42-year-old male has been arrested and charged with one count of assault and two counts of mischief. It is alleged that the accused did assault the victim by grabbing her arm. He was also charged with Mischief by preventing the victim from using her vehicle on two different occasions. The first incidents took place during the month of February. The second offence took place on May 14th.

3. A 24-year-old male was arrested on May 13th and charged with Mischief, Assault and Breach of an Undertaking. It is alleged that the accused did assault the victim, by grabbing her. The accused then damage property belonging to the victim. At the time of these offences the accused was on a release document to not molest or annoy the victim.

4. A 37-year-old male is charged with Assault and two counts of Breach of Probation. It is alleged that the accused did on May 12th, assault a female victim by grabbing her and throwing her to the ground. At the time of this offence the accused was on Probation with conditions to keep the peace and notify any change of address. The victim and accused are known to each other.

5. A 75-year-old male has been charged with one count of Threatening. It is alleged that on May 12th the accused did threaten to assault the victim and burn her home. Victim and accused are known to one another.

6. A 17-year-old youth was arrested on May 12th and charged with: One count of Theft Over$ 5,000.00,two counts of Theft Under $ 5,000.00 four counts of Possession of Stolen Property, and two counts of Breach of Probation. It is alleged that the youth did between December 15th and
April 6th steal or have in his possession four vehicles that were reported stolen.

Break & Enter

City Police are investigating a Break and Enter to the Hobby Escape Store located at 377 McNabb St. Culprits forced open the front door and stole a quantity of model airplanes and remote control cars. The entry occurred on Sunday morning.

Two Reports Of Mischief

City Police are also investigating two reports of Mischief that occurred this weekend. Unknown person(s) attended at two addresses in the 700 block of Third Line E and slashed the tires on vehicles parked there.

Suspicious Fire

City Police and the Sault Ste Marie Fire Department are investigating a suspicious fire that was reported to a laundry room at an apartment building in the 300 block of Lake St. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Crimestoppers or the City Police.
