Woman charged in grocery store theft

Female charged with theft

On Apr. 28, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 28-year-old Lindsey Jones of Sweetgrass Road in relation to a theft from a local grocery store.

It is alleged that the accused entered a grocery store in the west end of the city and selected just under $80 worth of meat. The accused then concealed the items in her purse and left the store without paying for the items.

She was apprehended by store security and held for police. The accused was charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation. She was then held for WASH court.

Female arrested for mischief

On Apr. 29, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old female in regards to a domestic dispute.

It is alleged that the accused engaged in a verbal argument with her boyfriend on Apr. 29, 2017. The accused took a cellphone belonging to the victim and threw it to the ground destroying the phone.

The accused was arrested and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000. She will appear in court on May 24, 2017.
