Domestic Dispute On Friday March 6th at approx.11:50 pm city police attended at an east end address for a domestic dispute. While there the officers discovered that the female complainant had been assaulted by her common-law- boyfriend.

On Friday March 6th at approx.11:50 pm city police attended at an east end address for a domestic dispute. While there the officers discovered that the female complainant had been assaulted by her common-law- boyfriend. It is alleged that the 23-year-old male assaulted the victim by striking her over the head with a chair. It is further alleged that the accused threw the victim onto a table and then punched the victim several times in the leg. The accused is charged with one count of assault with a weapon. The female victim did not attend for medical treatment.

Breach & Theft

On Sunday March 8th at approx. 10:40 am city police arrested a 39-year-old male and charged him with the following offences: three counts of breach of probation, three counts of breach of a recognizance, two counts of theft under $ 5,000.00, one count of possession of stolen property. It is alleged that on Saturday March 7th the accused attended at an east end address of his ex-common-law wife and while there stole items from her. It is further alleged that the accused was on a recognizance release order and on probation orders to stay away from the victim’s address, not to consume alcohol and not to molest or annoy the complainant. At the time of his arrest the accused was in possession of the victim’s property and was also in an intoxicated condition.

Failing to Appear

On Saturday March 7th city police arrested 25-year-old Raymond Gregoire of 217 Beverly St. Mr. Gregoire was arrested on warrants for: One count of failing to appear in court on March 2nd and Three counts of theft under $ 5,000.00. It is alleged that Raymond Gregoire failed to attend court on March 2nd on three counts of theft under $ 5,000.00.

Female arrested for Robbery:

On Friday March 6th at approx.5:00 pm city police arrested a 19-year-old female and charged her with one count of robbery. It is alleged that on Monday February 16th 2009, the accused and two other persons approached a female on Albert St. W. and then robbed her. The victim was punched by the three suspects and her purse containing her wallet and an MP3 player was stolen. Charged is: Elizabeth Jones, age 19, of 2042 Gordon Lake Rd, Desbarats, Ontario. The accused will be appearing in court on April 20th at 9:00 am.

City police received two reports of theft from vehicles over the weekend.
A vehicle parked in the 1oo block of Huntington Park was entered - electrical tools were stolen.
A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Manitou Dr was entered –m electronic items were stolen.

A female reports that on Sunday evening, while shopping at Wal-Mart her wallet was stolen. The wallet was in her purse in a shopping cart.
The public is reminded that by leaving purses and valuables in a shopping cart you are sending an invitation to thieves to take these items.

Mischief:

A vehicle parked in the 300 block of Dacey Rd was damaged.
