A 16 year old female who was arrested on March 22nd for Robbery and aggravated assault will be appearing in Bail Court tomorrow as a result of additional charges today. The young person was being transported to a female detention facility by the City Police earlier today after her appearance in Bail Court regarding her charges from the 22nd. Shortly after her arrival at the facility she ran away and was apprehended a short distance away by police. As a result, she was further charged with escape custody, unlawfully at large and resist arrest. She will be appearing in Bail Court once again tomorrow morning.

49 year old Betty Ann Flammand of 171 Gore Street was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for fingerprints stemming from a mischief charge in December 2012. It is alleged she failed to appear for her prints on January 14th and as a result will be appearing in Provincial Court on April 29th.

At approximately 9:00 p.m. on 24 March 2013, police responded to a home invasion robbery in a second floor apartment at 250 Albert St. East. Officers found an elderly male who had been badly beaten and left on the floor. Two people were seen leaving the victim’s apartment. The first suspect is a female wearing a toque and the second suspect is described as an aboriginal male with a long moustache, long dark hair in a pony tail, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans in his late 30’s to early 40’s. The male victim has been transported to hospital with severe facial injuries including a broken jaw and possible fractured arm. It is unknown what was taken from the residence. The investigation is continuing.
