YOUNG OFFENDER ARRESTED On Friday a young offender was arrested at an east end residence for breach of recognizance, 2 counts of breach of probation and failing to appear for fingerprints.
YOUNG OFFENDER ARRESTED
On Friday a young offender was arrested at an east end residence for breach of recognizance, 2 counts of breach of probation and failing to appear for fingerprints. The recognizance and probation had conditions of a 9 pm curfew and the young person was scheduled to appear for prints on Friday the 12th. A bail court hearing was to be held on Saturday the 13th of March.


DRUG BUST
A search warrant executed at 10 Donna Drive on Friday afternoon resulted in 24-year-old Gerrit Lester Huizing and 21 year-old Jessica Marie Bridge being arrested and charged. Officers from the Joint Forces Drug Unit and the Emergency Services Unit were able to locate marihuana, a loaded handgun, a blowgun, and codeine tablets. Both accused persons are charged with possession of a controlled substance (2 counts), possession for the purpose of trafficking, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon (2 counts), unlawful possession of a restricted weapon with ammunition. Huizing and Bridge are scheduled to attend in court on April 19th.


RESIDENCE INTRUDER
A young offender was arrested Saturday evening after breaking into to a residence in the city’s west end. The resident of the home was in bed when he noticed the intruder enter the bedroom. City police were contacted and were able to track the accused person threw the freshly fallen snow. The accused was arrested a short time later. Nothing is reported taken from the residence. An April 20th court date has been set.


CHARGED WITH THREATENING
22-year-old Amanda Rowlinson of 615 Albert Street West was arrested and charged with threatening to cause bodily harm. On Sunday night Rowlinson allegedly went to an apartment on Portage Lane and threatened one of the persons there. Rowlinson is scheduled to appear in court on April 19th.


CAUSING A DISTURBANCE
20 year-old Steve D’Orazio will appear in bail court this morning after causing a disturbance in the Wendy’s restaurant on Great Northern Road. D’Orazio was alleged to have been intoxicated at the time that O.P.P. officers arrested him in the restaurant for swearing. Mr. D’Orazio is charged with causing a disturbance, and 2 counts of breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in bail court this morning at 10:00.
