On June 30, 2015 City Police arrested and charged 21 year old Cynthia Bob of Grace Street for Fraud under $5000.00.

On June 30, 2015 City Police arrested and charged 21 year old Cynthia Bob of Grace Street for Fraud under $5000.00.  It’s alleged that between the 18th June and the 19th June the accused attended a local financial institution and deposited empty envelopes into her bank account then withdrew funds that were not present.  She will be appearing in Court on July 27, 2015.

On June 29, 2015 City Police attended the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center and executed an outstanding warrant regarding a domestic matter. It is alleged that the accused was on a non-communication order and breached it by contacting his ex-partner.  A 23-year-old male was arrested and appeared in bail court June 29, 2015 charged with disobeying a Court Order.

On June 29, 2015 a male age 25 turned himself in at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service regarding an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that the accused did not change his address and failed to report to police when ordered to do so.  Police executed the warrant and the accused James Charles Lawrence Bolan was charged with two counts of breach of probation.  The accused appeared in bail court June 29, 2015.

On June 29, 2015 the accused Simon Joseph Barnes age 19 was arrested at the Courthouse on an outstanding warrant for breaching his recognizance.  It is alleged that the accused breached the order on June 6, 2015 by being out past his curfew. The accused appeared in bail court on June 29, 2015.

On June 29, 2015 City Police attended at Romes Grocers responding to a shoplifting call.  A loss prevention officer observed a male allegedly conceal groceries on his person and leave the store without paying. Police continued the arrest and charged the accused with theft under $5,000.  The accused Douglas Watson, age 64, is scheduled to appear in court on July 27, 2015 at 9 a.m.

Early this morning, city police attended to the Queen Street West area of town regarding a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was located in the area of Hudson and Albert Street West. Further investigation led officers to believe the driver of the vehicle had been drinking and a roadside was administered in which the male registered a fail. He was then transported to the police station where further breath tests were performed on the Intoxilyzer. Two samples produced readings in excess of 2 times the legal limit. As a result, 53-year-old Terry Champagne of 5th Line was charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. He will be appearing in Provincial Court July 27.
