23 year old Caitlin Savard of 77 Allard Street turned herself in to the police regarding an outstanding warrant.  It is alleged that in 2009 the accused breached a probation order she was on by failing to complete community service hours and failing to report to her probation officer.  She will be appearing in court on July 22.

Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Street Team conducted a drug investigation involving a male at the rear of a strip mall on Northern Avenue.  A search of the male involved resulted in the seizure of approximately 3.5 grams of cocaine valued at approximately $350.  34 year old Alexander Benjamin McKenna of 282 Spadina Avenue was charged with one count of possession of narcotic and will be appearing in court on July 22.

A 38 year old male was arrested and charged with four counts of breach of probation.  The male was on probation as a result of convictions for domestic violence related matters.  Two of the conditions were to abstain from communicating with the victim or going to her residence.  It is alleged the accused went to her residence last week and when police went to the residence today to see if the victim knew where he could be located he was there again.  He will be appearing in bail court tomorrow.

48 year old Mark Berto of 1226 Queen Street East was arrested and charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle while his ability to do so was impaired by drug.  A citizen called in to report a vehicle travelling east bound on Trunk Road going up on the curb and swerving into the oncoming lane of traffic.  The citizen followed the vehicle to where it stopped at an east end motel.  When police arrived and spoke to the driver they found him to be exhibiting signs of impairment.  A demand for tests for impairment by drugs was made and as a result of the outcome of those tests the accused was charged.  He will be appearing in court on July 22.

A restaurant in the 400 block of Queen Street East was broken into.  Sometime between 8:15 last night and 7:15 this morning culprits broke the lock off the door and entered the business.  Wine, beer and various cuts of meat were reported stolen.

A garage in the 300 block of Goulais Avenue was reported broken into.  The owner does not believe anything was stolen.

A business in the 200 block of Wilson Street reported that over the weekend unknown persons broke in and stole electronics.

The RYTAC building on McPhail Street reported a break and enter.  Nothing was reported taken from the building.

A business in the 300 block of John Street reported the theft of a pair of blue jeans.  The suspects are described as a female wearing a red sweater, blue jeans and sunglasses and carrying a purse and a male described as wearing a brown suede jacket and sunglasses.  They were last seen walking east on St. Andrews Terrace towards North Street.

On Monday June 17, 2013 at approximately 12:10 am officers were on general patrol in the area of Wellington Street East near Blucher Street. A lone female was observed and a check of the individual was done and it revealed outstanding warrants for failing to re-attend court and a bench warrant for theft under $5000 and breach of probation.  The accused Crystal Erica Harvey or 171 Gore Street, age 38 was arrested and will appear in bail court June 17, 2013 at 10:00 am.
