The following three persons will be appearing in bail court this morning: 1) A 24 year-old male was arrested on the 9th of July around 12:50 am at his downtown residence and charged with one count of assault.
The following three persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1) A 24 year-old male was arrested on the 9th of July around 12:50 am at his downtown residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 9th of July around 12:43 am the accused assaulted his common-law wife at their residence by punching her in the face. The victim received injuries not requiring medical attention.

2) A 47 year-old male was arrested on the 8th of July at 3 am at his west end residence and charged with one count of assault and three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 8th of July around 2:30 am the accused assaulted his common-law wife at their residence by slapping her in the face. The victim received injuries not requiring medical attention. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions not to molest, harass or annoy the victim, not to consume alcohol and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

3) 20 year-old Jordon Driver of #208-27 Terry Fox Place was arrested on the 7th of July around 2:35 am on Queen Street West and charged with one count of break and enter with intent. It is alleged that on the 7th of July around 2:15 am the accused broke into an apartment in the 600 block of Queen Street West while a lone male resident was sleeping inside. Police were contacted by a neighbour that heard a loud bang and discovered the door frame damaged. When police attended at the residence they located the accused person sleeping on a mattress in the basement. The lone male resident was awakened by police and he advised them that he did not know the accused or give him permission to sleep in the basement.

Assault Charges Laid

24 year-old Luc John Barbeau #205-634 Connaught Avenue was arrested on the 8th of July around 1:25 am on Letcher Street and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused attended at a house party on Bonney Street on the 8th of July and became upset with the homeowner when he was asked to leave. An argument ensued and it is alleged that the accused punched the male victim in the face and left. Police were contacted and the accused was found walking on Letcher Street. The victim received injuries that did not require medical attention. The accused is to appear in court on the 13th of August.

Trespassing & Being Intoxicated in Public

21 year-old Patrick Koski of 152 Mcfadden Avenue was arrested on the 8th of July around 5:15 am on Tancred Street and charged with one count of trespassing at night and one count of being intoxicated in a public place. Police received several calls from residents in the area that a male that appeared intoxicated was attempting to enter vehicles and homes in the area. It is alleged that when the police attended in the area they located the accused exiting a garage on Tancred Street. The accused was found to be intoxicated at the time. Nothing was reported stolen or damaged. The accused is to appear in court on the 13th of August.

Theft Under $5,000

51 year-old Patti Dube of 541 Albert Street West was arrested on the 7th of July at the Sears Store in the Station Mall just before 1 pm and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that the accused attended at Sears and stole a purse, a necklace and a shirt. The accused was apprehended by store security and police were contacted. The accused is to appear in court on the 13th of August.

The following break and enters were reported over the weekend:

1) A rear apartment at a residence in the 200 block of John Street was entered on the 7th of July between the hours of 8:30 and 9 am. A DVD player, money and some beer were reported stolen.

2) An apartment was entered on Chapple Avenue between the hours of 12:30 am and 6:30 am on the 7th of July. A wallet and some tobacco were stolen.

3) An apartment on Allard Street was entered some time between the 30th of June and the 2nd of July. Some food and narcotics were reported stolen.

4) A garage on Lorna Drive was entered overnight on the 8th of July. A fishing tackle box, some beer and a Q-ray bracelet were reported stolen.

5) The Strathclair canteen on Black Road was entered around 1:15 am on the 9th of July. Police were dispatched after the alarm was activated and searched the area but were unable to locate anyone. It did not appear that anything was taken. A window and two pop machines were reported damaged.
