On July 5, 2014 at approximately 6:30 p.m it is alleged that a male attended at his girlfriend’s apartment after consuming alcohol.

On July 5, 2014 at approximately 6:30 p.m it is alleged that a male attended at his girlfriend’s apartment after consuming alcohol. An argument ensued and as a result the male punched the victim in the chin and in the thigh resulting in bruising and soreness. The male then caused damage to a wall by sticking a knife into it. On July 7, 2014 the accused turned himself in at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. The accused was charged with assault and mischief and will appear in bail court on July 8, 2014 at 10 a.m.

On July 7, 2014 at approximately 11:39 a.m. the accused Dylan Richard Daigle age 18, of no fixed address entered the Metro Grocery store on Northern Avenue and it is alleged that he stole cheese and meat products and exited the store without paying. The accused was apprehended by security. A check of the accused was done and it was found that the accused had breach a condition of his recognizance.  The accused was charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of recognizance. The accused will appear in bail court on July 8, 2014 at 10 a.m.

On July 7, 2014 police responded to a domestic dispute in the area of Gloucester Avenue. It is alleged that a female could be heard screaming.  Upon arriving at the residence a male age 18 was located hiding in the residence. A check revealed that the male was on conditions not to be at the residence of the victim and not to communicate with the victim. The accused was arrest for breaching his recognizance and will appear in bail court on July 8, 2014 at 10 a.m.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS:  Bear sightings in the area of Manitou Drive, Park Street and in the 1200 block of Great Northern Road.

THEFT FROM VEHICLES OVERNIGHT: Theft from vehicles in the 100 block of Lansdowne Avenue, the 400 block of Spidina Avenue and in the area of Alberta Avenue. Taken in the thefts was change, wallets and phone cords.

On July 7, 2014 at approximately 2 a.m., 20-year-old Gunner Shaganash of McKenzie Street called police to turn himself in on a warrant. It is alleged that the accused failed to re-attend court on another on an assault charge. He will be appearing in bail court this morning.

On the 4th of July shortly after 2 p.m., a homeowner on Old Highway 17 North returned home to discover their residence had been broken into earlier in the day. Items taken include a 50 inch Samsung television, an X-box with two controllers, Puma hats and a small amount of change.

On the 4th of July shortly after 5 p.m., a homeowner on Salisbury Avenue reported a break and enter to the residence. An LG flat screen television was taken.

On the 4th of July shortly before 9 p.m., a homeowner in the 200 block of Lake Street reported a break and enter. A Samsung dvd player was taken.

On the 5th of July a garage was entered on Cooper Street and a Husqvarna chainsaw and a cordless drill were taken.

On the 6th of July around 2 a.m., there was an attempt break in at the Armouries on Pine Street but the suspect was scared off.  The suspect was a male approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall, unshaven, with dark coloured hair. He was wearing baggie blue jeans and a dark hoodie.

Thefts from vehicles were reported on Dauphin Drive, Central Creek, Woodhurst Drive and Cooper Street. Items taken include change, lottery tickets, and an Ipod shuffle.
