July 15th afternoon news:
Overnight on the 14th of July unknown suspects stole a black Baja dirt bike from the back yard in the 100 block of Wallace Terrace. During the day on the 15th, alert officers spotted the dirt bike in the west end of the city being driven by a male with a female passenger.After the bike stopped, the male fled and the female was detained by the officers.The investigation is continuing.
July 15th morning news:
On July 14th, shortly after 3:00 pm, an adult male went to visit a friend on Brown Street. When he got out of his vehicle he saw a lady on the street that was staring at him. The female then came over to him and slapped him in the head. The male victim complained to police and as a result Vera Ann Shaganash, age 39 of 231 Brown St. Sault Ste. Marie was arrested and charged with Assault. She will appear in court on Aug. 19th.
On July 14th shortly before midnight Patrol Officers attended a residence on Forest Ave. Officers located Kerry Mearow, age 36 of 609 Farwell Terrace there. A police records check revealed he was wanted for Failing to Attend Court on a Theft under $5,000.00 charge. He was arrested and charged with these offenses. Mearow will appear in bail court on July15th.
On July 15th at 1:45 am Patrol Officers located Henry Cadreau, age 31 years of 28 Hughes St., near the Bridge Plaza. A police records check revealed that a warrant for Uttering a Death Threat had been requested for him. Officers arrested and charged him with this offense. He will appear in bail court on July 15th.
