Domestic Related Arrests Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested an 18 year-old male on the 28th of January at 4 pm at the police station and charged him with two counts of assault.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested an 18 year-old male on the 28th of January at 4 pm at the police station and charged him with two counts of assault. It is alleged that between January 7th and January 13, 2011 the accused assaulted his ex-girlfriend at her residence. It is further alleged that he assaulted the victim while outside an east end residence on the 25th of January.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 16 year-old male on the 30th of January at 4:16 pm at a west end residence and charged him with two counts of assault, one count of forcible confinement and one count of mischief. It is alleged that on the 30th of January the accused assaulted and choked his girlfriend while in her vehicle in a local business parking lot. When she attempted to leave her vehicle, he restrained her from doing so. About an hour later, he assaulted her again while outside his residence and then smashed her cell phone.

Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested an 18 yer-old male on the 31st of January at 2:00 am at his residence and charged him with two counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 26th of January the accused breached his recognizance order conditions when he attend at the residence of a female that he was not supposed to communicate with or to attend at her residence due to past domestic related incidents.

Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 40 year-old male on the 30th of January at 3:10 am at his residence and charged him with two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 30th of January the accused attended home in an intoxicated state, banged on the windows and was yelling at his wife. At the time, he was on probation with conditions that he not attend at the victim’s residence when he has consumed alcohol and he was not to harass, molest or physically interfere with her.

Impaired Driving Related Arrest
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 50 year-old Mark Demarchi of #4-603 Second Line West on the 27th of January at 9:32 pm on Second Line West and charged him with one count of impaired driving and one count of fail to provide breath sample. It is alleged that on that evening officers received a call regarding a possible impaired driver in the area of Second Line West and Goulais Avenue. Officers located the accused inside his vehicle in the parking lot of his residence and found him to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested and is to attend in court on the 28th of February.

Break and Enters
• A maintenance building in the 200 block of McNabb Street was entered. Some tools and a 42 inch television were reported stolen.
• A building office in the 200 block of Northern Avenue was entered. A 32 inch television, a blackberry, a DVD player and a hoodie was stolen.
• A utility room on Borron Avenue was entered. A number of power tools and some wall paintings were reported stolen.
• Storage lockers at 313 Macdonald Avenue were broken into. A chainsaw and a set of golf clubs were reported taken.

Theft Reports
• A vehicle was entered in a parking lot in the 900 block of Queen Street East on the 30th – A purse left inside was reported stolen.
• A vehicle on McDougald Street was entered on the 28th of January. A snowboard, snowboard boots, goggles, a rachet set, an iPod, a GPS and some Cd’s were stolen.
• A rear licence plate was stolen from a vehicle on Allen’s Side Road.

Mischief Reports
• A vehicle on Grand Boulevard had two door handles torn off.
• On the 30th of January, an apartment building on Upton Road had vandalism done to a laundry room washer coin box and culprit/s also attempted to break into a storage room.
