MAN ASSAULTS GIRLFRIEND Yesterday morning, a 22-year-old male became physically aggressive towards his 29-year-old girlfriend. The incident occurred at the home of victim in the city's east end.

Yesterday morning, a 22-year-old male became physically aggressive towards his 29-year-old girlfriend. The incident occurred at the home of victim in the city's east end.

The male, under the influence of alcohol would not allow the female victim to walk past him, from the living room to kitchen. The resulting wrestling match had him grabbing the neck of the victim, leaving a series of welts on her neck.

At 5:15 pm patrol officers arrested and charged the male with Assault and Breach of Probation. He will appear in court March 3rd.


ARRESTED WHEN COULDN?T PAY TAXI FARE
Yesterday at 5:30, Lisa Jones, age 34 of 172 Sutton Place was at residence on Boston Avenue where she hired a Taxi Cab, not having any money to pay the fare.

The total fare was $13.75 and Jones could not pay. As a result, patrol officers were called and she was charged with fraud in relation to fares. She will appear in court Feb. 24th.


ARRESTED FOR POSSESSING COUNTERFEIT MONEY
Yesterday, Abayavanthan Arunasalam, age 23 of 1520 Queen St. East was found to be in possession of counterfeit money by using a counterfeit $20.00 Canadian bill to pay for drinks at the River Rock Bar, 8 Queen Street East.

At 1:10 am patrol officers subsequently arrested and charged the accused with Possessing Counterfeit Money. He will appear in court March 3rd.


MAN & WOMAN ARRESTED THEN RELEASED
Patrol officers were called to an apartment on Wallace Terrace on Saturday at 10:10 pm where a 36-year-old male and a 33-year-old female were arguing with each other.

Both parties refused to leave the apartment and it was clear to the officers that, left alone, the argument would escalate into an assault. Officers arrested both parties for Breach of the Peace and escorted then to the Police Services Building. Once calmer heads prevailed the parties were released from police custody.


16 & 14-YEAR-OLDS STEAL FROM 12-YEAR-OLD
Saturday at 3:37 pm, the co-accused, a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old male, were at the Churchill Plaza in front of the Pet Food Warehouse Store (150 Churchill Blvd).

While there, they allegedly committed the offence of theft under $5000.00 by taking $37.50 from the 12-year-old victim who was selling chocolate bars for charity.

The 16-year-old accused put his hand in the victims left coat pocket and grabbed $37.50 in assorted change and bills while the 14-year-old accused spoke with the victim. Both then fled the scene but were arrested at 3:55 pm by patrol officers on Elizabeth Street.

The 16-year-old had $30.00 of the stolen money on his person, while the 14 year old had $7.50. They were subsequently transported to the Police Services Building where they were charged with Theft under $5,000.00. They will appear in court in early March.


ARRESTED FOR THREATENING TO KILL FEMALE
Between October and November 2002, the accused, Justin Butorac, age 38 of #207-751 Pine Street, threatened to kill an adult female known to him on at least 3 different occasions. These threats were made to a third party and subsequently relayed to the potential female victim.

At the time Butorac was on a probation order not to communicate with the victim. On December 21, the accused attempted to break into a home on Creery Avenue. He attempted to gain entrance by breaking latches off of 2 doors and damaging them.

On January 25th at 3:15 pm, detectives from the Investigation Services Section arrested and charged Butorac with Uttering Death or Bodily Harm Threats, Attempted Break and Enter and Breach of Probation. He will appear in court March 3rd.
