5 Persons With Domestic Violence Related Charges
A 32-year old male was arrested Friday morning for assaulting his common law spouse in their central area residence. It is alleged that the male punched the victim in the face when she tried to leave the residence in a vehicle. The male than smashed the windshield of the vehicle with a baseball bat. The victim received non-life threatening injuries but did not require medical treatment for her injuries at the time of the investigation. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and one count of assault causing bodily harm.
On Friday evening a 39-year old male assaulted his common law spouse in their downtown residence. It is alleged that around 9 pm the accused pushed the victim on the bed and struck her twice in the face. The victim did not require any medical treatment at the time. The accused has been charged with one count of assault.
Yesterday morning City Police arrested a 23-year old male in relation to a domestic assault that occurred in the early morning hours in a downtown residence. It is alleged that the male assaulted his girlfriend in a downtown apartment by picking her up and throwing her on the bed. The accused told the victim he would kill her if she called the police. The victim later called the police and the accused has been charged with one count of assault and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm.
Last evening City Police attended at a central area residence to a domestic assault. Both the male and the female were arrested in this incident. It is alleged that a 39-year old female assaulted a 41 –year old male by hitting him in the head with a screwdriver as well as a telephone. It is alleged that the male assaulted the female by grabbing her by the throat and hitting her in the face several times. Both people have been charged with assault.
City Police received a number of reports of break and enters over the weekend. On the 15th a home in the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue was entered during the early morning hours and thieves made off with a guitar. A home in the 100 block of Breton Rd was reported broken into on the 15th. It is unknown if anything was taken.
Break and Enter
On the 16th a home in the 200 block of Wellington Street East was entered overnight and thieves made off with a stereo, a ghetto blaster and food. In addition to the theft the thieves left a mess behind in the kitchen of the home by leaving frozen food out to thaw as well as throwing tealeaves all over the floor. On the 16th a homeowner in the 100 block of Albert Street West reported their garage had been entered overnight, but it is unknown at this time if anything was taken. Women Charged With Theft
On the 15th of January shortly after 3 pm 39-year old Josie Serrao (f) of 24 Parkview Court was apprehended by store security officers in the Sears Store of the Station Mall. It is alleged that the accused stole approximately $64 worth of clothing from the store. City Police were called and the accused was charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on January 31st.
