Domestic Related Arrest: The only entry for bail court appearance this morning is a domestic related arrest. A 36 year-old male was arrested on the 7th of February at 3:30 am at a west end residence and charged with one count of assault.

The only entry for bail court appearance this morning is a domestic related arrest. A 36 year-old male was arrested on the 7th of February at 3:30 am at a west end residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 7th of February the accused attended at his girlfriend’s residence and assaulted her by pushing her against a wall, causing her to fall to the floor. He continuously lunged at her while she attempted to get up. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result.

Female Charged with Consuming over the Legal Limit:

22 year-old Chantal Gravel of 394 Sydenham Road was arrested on the 8th February at 2:58 am and charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on February 8th around 3 am city police were called to Customs on Huron Street regarding a possible impaired driver. When police attended they discovered that the accused had been stopped and checked by Customs officers that suspected that she was under the influence of alcohol. The accused failed the road side screening device at Customs and when she was brought to the station for the intoxilyzer test she also registered a fail. She is to attend in court on the 9th of March.

Male in Custody charged with Mischief after Flooding Cell Area:

46 year-old Todd Petrie of #312-138 East Street was arrested on the 7th of February at 2:50 am on Queen Street East and charged with one count of breach of probation, one count of mischief under $5,000.00 and one count of intoxicated in a public place. It is alleged that on the 7th of February around 2:50 am city police received a call regarding an intoxicated male on Queen Street East. When they arrived they found the accused was under the influence of alcohol and was very unsteady on his feet and had trouble walking. When the accused was in custody in the police cells he placed some of his clothing in the toilet and flushed it until the toilet and cell area flooded. At the time of the offence, the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to attend in court on the 16th of March.

City police conducted a RIDE Program on Saturday evening.

- There were 384 vehicles checked.
- Four roadside tests were administered.
- Three other Highway Traffic Act charges were laid.
- One male passenger was charged with breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Property Crimes:

Theft Reports:


- A cash box was stolen from an office in the 300 block of Queen Street East on the 7th of February. At approximately 12:37 pm the complainant called police after observing a male leaving his office carrying the cash box that contained an undisclosed amount of cash and keys. Police attended and checked the area with negative results. The male was described as approximately 6 feet, short hair, wearing a blue jacket and carrying a black backpack.
- A vehicle in the 600 block of Pine Street was entered sometime overnight on the 7th-8th of February. It is not known what was taken.

Mischief Reports:

- A patio glass window was smashed at a Jimmy Joe’s Café on Great Northern Road sometime overnight on the 8th of February.
- A window of a residence in the 500 block of Albert Street East was smashed when a beer bottle was thrown at it.
