Seven persons to appear in bail court On Friday February 25th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 23-year-old male for assault.
Seven persons to appear in bail court
On Friday February 25th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 23-year-old male for assault. It is alleged that the Accused male assaulted his common-law girlfriend by pushing and shoving her into a night stand. Victim was taken to the Sault Area Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. The accused male is charged with one count of assault.

On Friday February 25th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old female for assault. It is alleged that the accused female assaulted her common-law boyfriend by kicking and punching him in the face. Victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical treatment. The accused is charged with one count of assault.

On Friday February 25th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 29-year-old male for assault and mischief. It is alleged that on Wednesday February 23rd, 2011 the accused male assaulted his wife by spitting in her face. It is further alleged that during the dispute the accused damaged a door, a wall and television. The accused is charged with one count of assault and two counts of mischief.

On Saturday February 26th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 22-year-old male for impaired driving, drive over 80 mgs, fail to remain and fail to stop for police. It is alleged that at approximately 2:50 am on Saturday February 26th the accused was operating a motor vehicle on Albert St. E. when it was involved in a motor vehicle collision with another vehicle. The accused failed to stop at the scene of the collision. It is further alleged that when police attempted to stop the vehicle the accused failed to do so and fled from police. That the vehicle was subsequently stopped at Dennis St. and Bay St. At this time it was observed that the accused’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. Troy Wabigwan, age 22 of 144 Biggings St, is charged with one count of failing to remain at the scene of a collision, one count of failing to stop for police, one count of impaired driving and one count of driving over 80mgs.

On Saturday February 26th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old male for possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that the accused person, who was wanted by police for warrants, was seen hiding in a vehicle on Connaught St. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the accused. It is further alleged that at the time of his arrest the accused was in possession of property reported stolen in December 2010.
Ryan Moll, age 27, of no fixed address is charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. He was also arrested on warrants for: theft under $ 5,000, theft over $ 5,000, break and enter, taking a motor vehicle without consent and fail to appear for identification

Drug raids on Pine St and Vera St
On Saturday February 26th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service “Street Team” executed a drug search warrant at 738 Pine St. As a result of the warrant officers arrested two persons inside the residence. It is alleged that the two accused were in possession of 122 marihuana plants, 1,722 grams of marihuana along with various articles used in the production and growth of marihuana plants. The estimated street value of the drugs is
$ 132,021.00

Aaron English, age 38, of 738 Pine St. is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of production of a substance and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Susan Rutledge, age 33, of 738 Pine St is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of production of a substance and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Two other males were arrested as a result of the drug warrants. John McCallum, age 29 of 738 Pine St is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
It is alleged that the accused male was in possession of 17 grams of marihuana and one gram of cocaine. The street value of these drugs is $ 440. Mr. McCallum is to appear in court on March 28th at 9:00 am.

The fourth male arrested, as a result of the drug warrant execution, was Jeffery Gales, age 35 of 1519 Third Line E. It is alleged that Mr. Gales along with accused Susan Rutledge and Aaron English was involved in a marihuana grow operation at a residence in the 100 block of Vera Ave. At that location officers located 122 marihuana plants, along with various articles used in the production and growth of marihuana plants. The estimated street value of the drugs is $ 132,021. The accused is charged with one count of production of a substance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Mr. Gales is to appear in court on March 28th at 9:00 am.

Break and enter
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating four reported break and enters from over the weekend.

Entries were reported to residences in the 400 block of North St., the 200 block of Albert St. E. It is not known what was taken at this time.

Break-ins were also reported to a business in the 100 block of White Oak Dr. and to the construction trailers at the Francis H. Clergue School. Again it is not know what was taken.
