The following persons will appear in bail court this morning:
1) A 55-year old male was arrested on the 16th of February and charged with one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused attended his girlfriend’s address while on a probation order prohibiting him from being at her residence.
2) A 17-year old male was arrested on the 17th of February just after 1 am and charged with two counts of breach of probation and one count of fail to attend court. The accused was wanted on an outstanding warrant for these charges.
3) A 57-year old male was arrested on the 16th of February and charged with two counts of criminal harassment. It is alleged that between the 2nd and 16th of February the accused made numerous phone calls to his estranged wife. It is further alleged that on the 15th of February the accused parked outside of the victim’s address and also attended at her residence on the 16th at which time the police were called.
4) A 37-year old male was arrested on the 16th of February and charged with one count of assault, three counts of breach of probation and one count of assault police. It is alleged that on the 16th of February the accused assaulted his common law wife by hitting her while they were in their downtown residence. The accused was on probation at the time of the offence with conditions not to molest, harass or annoy the victim.
5) A 37-year old male turned himself into the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service yesterday morning. The male was wanted for one count of assault, one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm from a domestic incident that occurred on February 16th. It is alleged that the accused assaulted and threatened his wife and also cut some clothing of the victim’s with a knife.
Mac's Robbed
On the 17th of February just before 2:30 am a lone male entered the Mac’s Convenience Store on Dacey Road and robbed the store. The male suspect indicated he had a gun and he fled the store with a small undisclosed amount of money. The clerk was not injured in the robbery. The suspect is described as being about 5’8” to 5’10” tall and was in his early 20’s. He was wearing a brown suede or leather jacket with a hoodie, dark gloves and was light skinned. The male was seen leaving the area in a larger 4-door car.
Charged for 2 Damaged Pool Tables
19-year old Travis Marshall of 370 Elizabeth Street was arrested on the 18th of February and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 16th of January the accused damaged 2 pool table felts at Top Hat Amusements. The accused will appear in court on March 19th.
Charged with Stealing Shoes from Zellers
42-year old Donat Cyr of 3-42 Cathcart Street was arrested on the 17th of February and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Zellers Store in the Station Mall and attempted to steal a pair of shoes. He was apprehended by store security and turned over to police. The accused will appear in court on March 19th.
Two People Charged with Assault
1. A 26-year old male was arrested on the 17th of February and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on that date the accused assaulted his common law wife by pushing her. The victim sustained no injuries. The accused will appear in court on March 19th.
2. A 16-year old youth was arrested on the 16th of February and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 12th of February the youth assaulted a teacher at a local high school by pushing her. The accused will appear in court on March 20th.
The following break and enters were reported over the weekend:
1) Around 9:30 pm a male tried to kick in a door to a residence on Walnut Street but was scared off.
2) Between 8 am and 9 pm on the 16th of February a home on Wilcox Avenue was entered and money was taken.
3) A home on Alexandra Street was entered between 6 pm on the 16th of February and 3 am on the 17th of February. Jewellery, some change and Nintendo games were taken.
4) Between February 14th and 17th a home on Wallace Terrace was entered. The house was gone through but nothing appears to have been taken.
5) A shed on Lennox Avenue was entered in the last week, but nothing appears to have been taken. The owner reported it on the 17th.
6) A residence on Franklin Street was entered between the 15th of February t 4 pm and the 18th of February at 11 am. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken.
