ARRESTED FOR BREACH OF PROBATION On Friday at approximately 11:00 pm the accused, Troy Buttineau, age 29 of 800 Great Northern Road reported to the Northern Treatment Centre as required for his intermittent sentence.

On Friday at approximately 11:00 pm the accused, Troy Buttineau, age 29 of 800 Great Northern Road reported to the Northern Treatment Centre as required for his intermittent sentence.

Staff at the Treatment Centre noted that he had consumed alcohol prior to his return in contravention of his probation order.

On Saturday at 3:30 pm patrol officers were called to the Treatment Centre and arrested and charged the male with Breach of Probation. He will appear in court March 11th.


FEMALE ASSAULTS MAN AND WOMAN
On Saturday at approximately 8:30 pm, the accused, a 35-year-old female went to at a residence on Elgin Street.

Once there a domestic dispute occurred when the female forced her way into the apartment and assaulted a 43-year-old male by pushing him up against the wall.

She then forced her way through the apartment and assaulted a 24-year-old female by pushing her stomach-first into the kitchen sink. The accused then tried to take the dog when exiting and pushed the male to the ground when he tried to intervene. She then pushed the female victim on top of him.

Police officers were called to the Elgin Street address and arrested and charged the 35-year-old female with Assault. She will appear in court March 17th.

During this investigation Police learned that the 24-year-old victim had also assaulted the 35-year-old accused by pushing her during the altercation. Police accordingly arrested and charged her with Assault. She too will appear in court on March 17th.


ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED
On Saturday at approximately11: 29 pm, Emilio Andreola, age 50 of Trout Lake Road, Heyden, drove a 1989 mini van while his ability was impaired by alcohol on Fourth Line East. The van was involved in a motor vehicle collision when it struck a parked truck.

After the collision, the Andreola van became stuck in the snow bank. Andreola then went to a residence to seek assistance with removing his van from the snow bank.

Emergency Service personnel where dispatched to the scene and the accused, who was exhibiting signs of impairment, was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Driving over .08. He will appear in court on March 17th.


15-YEAR-OLD CHARGE WITH ASSAULT
Yesterday at 11:30 pm, police officers arrested and charged a 15-year-old male with Assault and Failing to appear for prints.

Police investigation revealed that yesterday at approximately 8:00 pm, the 15-year-old male did commit assault on a 15-year-old male victim by pushing him into the wall of a building in the 600 block of Second Line West.

The victim received a small cut to the right side of his head near his temple and causing bruising and swelling from this assault. The victim, who was followed by the accused to outside a home on Second Line West where he was assaulted for a second time by being punched in the face at least two times. These blows struck the victim in the left cheek and in the nose causing his nose to bleed profusely.

The victim sought assistance from the resident of the home outside of which he was being assaulted. When the resident came to the door, the accused fled the scene on foot. The accused also committed threats by saying he was going to kill the victim during the incident.

At approximately 11:30 pm, police arrested and charged the youth with Assault and Threatening Death. Police records check revealed he was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for fingerprints. He is scheduled to appear in court in mid March.


BREAK & ENTER
Yesterday, police officers were called to 138 Gore Street (Cotton Colours) in regards to a Break and Enter. Upon police arrival, officers spoke with the complainants who indicated that the store had been left locked up approximately 11:00 pm on Saturday. It was secured with both doors locked.

Upon their arrival at 9:30 am on Sunday, the complainant unlocked the front door and took a walk through the building to make sure everything was secure.

As she made her way to the rear of the store, she found the lock off of the rear door and the door open with articles strewn about. Police attended and commenced their investigation. Missing and reported stolen was a small quantity of cash and cheques.

Last evening at 6:30 pm, officers went to a home on Adrian Drive where the resident advised police that someone had damaged a window as they tried unsuccessfully to enter the residence.

City police officers are investigating both incidents and request anyone with information about these crimes to contact them at 949-6300 or to call Crime stoppers.


ITEMS STOLEN FROM VEHICLES
Yesterday, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received three complaints of vehicles being entered and items stolen from them. These thefts occurred in various locations in the city and at varying times.

Citizens are reminded to not leave valuable items in their vehicles and to secure their cars and trucks before leaving them unattended. Should you have any information on these thefts, you are asked to contact the Police Service at 949-6300 or Crime stoppers.
