6 People To Appear In Bail Court This Morning
A 21-year old male was arrested on the 11th and charged with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his girlfriend in a downtown residence by grabbing her by the hair and pushing her into a wall. It is also alleged that the accused threw a plastic storage container at the accused striking the victim in the forehead. The victim required medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
City Police arrested a 24-year-old male on the 13th of February on an outstanding warrant in relation to a domestic related incident from last year. The male was wanted for one count of fail to appear in court and one count of assault with a weapon.
19-year old Nathan English, an inmate the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre, was arrested and charged on the 12th of February with one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on that date the accused threatened to kill one of the corrections officers. The accused was on probation at the time of the offence.
A 14-year old youth was arrested and charged on the 12th of February with one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the youth threatened to harm his/her father. At the time of the offence the youth was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good.
A 15-year old youth was arrested on the 12th of February and charged with one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of a release order. It is alleged that the accused was in the downtown area with a person the youth was on a release order not to associate with.
24-year old Michael Chevrier of upstairs-658 North Street was arrested on the 10th of February and charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that between the 9th and 10th of February the accused broke into a home in the 600 block of North Street and stole a number of items including a wooden hunting bow and arrows, as well as some jewellery. The property was recovered and returned to the owner.
Impaired Driver Attempts To Evade Police With No Luck
On February 11th just after 2 am it is alleged that 25-year old Joel Duchesne of 50 Ferguson Street was operating a motor vehicle in the downtown area and narrowly missed rear-ending a police cruiser on Wellington Street East near Pim Street. The accused than spun around on the road way and headed west bound on Wellington Street East in an erratic manner. Officers followed the accused who was stopped on Pilgrim Street near Pim Street. Officers noted that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. The accused was charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. He will appear in court on March 20th.
Man Attempts To Steal $275 Worth Of Meat From Rome's
39-year old Darrell Ojeebah of 3 Rusie St, Brunswick House Reserve was arrested on the 12th of February and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused attempted to steal $275 worth of meat from Rome’s. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to City Police. The accused will appear in court on March 20th.
Motor Vehicle Collision
Yesterday afternoon just before 1 pm, City Police attended at Old Garden River Road and Third Line East for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. A car operated by 42-year old Teri-Lyn Parr of 44 Cambridge Place was traveling westbound on Third Line East. A car operated by 42-year old Colinda Morin-Secord of Timmins was traveling southbound on Old Garden River Road and allegedly failed to stop for the stop sign. The two cars collided. Teri-Lyn Parr and two of her passengers were taken to the Sault Area Hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Colinda Morin-Secord has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of disobey stop sign-fail to stop.
One Report Of A Break And Enter
City Police received one report of a break and enter on the 10th of February. A home in the 100 block of Spadina Avenue had its door damaged, but it does not appear that entry was gained.
