On the morning of August 5, 2013 at 10:45 a.m., Patrol Officers attended a residence on Salisbury Ave. for an assault complaint. Officers learned that a 21-year-old female had assaulted two of her care givers by pulling and shoving them. No injuries were reported. The female was arrested and charged with two counts assault and three counts of breach of probation by failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. (The female cannot be identified as it may lead to the identity of the victims.) The accused will appear in court on August 6.

On August 5, 2013 at 1:20 a.m. Police were patrolling in the area of Pilgrim Street and Wellington Street East. At that time officers observed a female known to them as a wanted person. The warrants included failing to re-attend court and breach of probation (x 2). Further investigation found that the accused was caught on video at Sears on July 25, 2013 allegedly stealing a Versace gift set. The accused Samantha Barrett age 25 of 89 Hudson Street will appear in WASH court (weekend and statutory holiday court) on August 5, 2013.

On August 4, 2013 at approximately 8:41 p.m. police attended at a Northern Avenue address after receiving complaints of a driver passed out in the drive through lane at a local restaurant. EMS and Fire Rescue were on scene. The driver was arrest for having care and control of a motor vehicle while being impaired. The accused was taken to the Sault Area Hospital checked over and returned to the police station. A further charge of consuming over the legal limit was also laid. Upon searching the accused a quantity of cannabis marihuana was located. The accused was charged with possession of a controlled substance. The accused Nicholas Ivan Turmaine age 20 of 414 Pine Shores Drive will appear in court on September 9, 2013 at 9 a.m.
