NO CAB FARE
28-year-old Brandon Kicknosway of 394 Frontenac Street was arrested on Friday evening after he failed to pay his cab fare. It is alleged that Mr. Kicknosway caught a local cab in the downtown area and stopped at 2 other addresses before arriving at his destination in the City’s downtown area.
Once at his destination he discovered he didn’t have enough money to pay the driver. As a result Police were called and he was arrested. Mr. Kicknosway has been charged with one count of transportation fraud and will appear in court on September 13th.
IMPAIRED DRIVER
At approximately 10:00 on Saturday night City Police received a call about an erratic driver. Witnesses advised a Hyundai Accent was being driven at high rates of speed and hitting the curbs in the areas of Northern Avenue and North Street.
Police stopped the car on St. George’s Avenue East and found the driver to be impaired. Charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit is Linda Slivinsky of upstairs-324 John Street. She will appear in court on September 20th.
CAUGHT IN THE ACT
Shortly after 2:00 this morning an alert citizen called City Police to advise 3 persons were going through vehicles in the area of Newcastle, Rushmere and St. Michaels Square. Upon arrived police took 3 persons into custody and upon searching the persons found a large amount of coins and 2 wallets with contents.
A 13-year-old young person was arrested for one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of theft under $5,000 and instead of going to court was referred to the diversion program.
A 16-year-old youth has been charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation by failing to keep the peace and be good and she will appear in bail court today.
Also charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of theft under $5,000 is 18-year old Jennifer Unetic of 302-524A Goulais Avenue. She will appear in court on September 9th.
BREAK & ENTERS
City Police report 2 break and enters over the weekend. Sometime between 3 am and 11 am person or persons gained entry into Dom’s Pizza at 97 Great Northern Road and made off with a small, undisclosed amount of cash on the 14th. On the 15th of August around 4 am person or persons gained entry into the Queen Street West Variety at 602 Queen St W and made off with a number of package of Dumaurier and Players cigarettes as well as some cigars.
