On April 17, 2016 at 9:15 p.m. police and EMS attended at a motor vehicle collision on Wellington Street East near Simpson Street.

On April 17, 2016 at 9:15 p.m. police and EMS attended at a motor vehicle collision on Wellington Street East near Simpson Street. Investigation revealed that an E-bike was being operated eastbound on Wellington Street East when the driver lost control of the E-bike causing the bike to crash and the driver to be thrown from the E-bike landing on the roadway. A vehicle that was following the E-bike struck the driver as he lay in the roadway. The driver was taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Officer determined that the E-bike driver’s ability to operate the vehicle was impaired and he was given a breath demand. Results of the breath test allege that the driver’s blood alcohol was more than four times the legal limit. 37-year-old Cory Gostlin of Princess Crescent has been charged with operating a motor vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol in his blood. The accused will appear in court on May 30.
