A person was struck by a vehicle on Trunk Road on Thursday afternoon, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has confirmed.

SooToday received a tip from a reader that a girl was hit by a heavy truck after getting off a bus on Trunk Road near Dacey Road.

Sault Police spokesperson Chelsey Foucher confirmed the basic details in an email early on Friday.

"A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle around 4:30 p.m. on Trunk Road yesterday. The pedestrian sustained minor physical injuries," said Foucher. "No charges were laid as the pedestrian was not crossing at a controlled intersection."
