Assault investigation
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are currently at the scene of an assault that occurred at a downtown residence early this morning.
At 2:30 a.m. officers responded to a call regarding an adult male that had been assaulted by a person known to him.
The victim was located and taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
Officers from the Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Services Division are continuing the investigation and further information will be released when it becomes available.
