A 30-year-old faces charges stemming from an incident that happened earlier this week.
In a news release issued today, Sault Ste. Marie police say officers were patrolling near Wellington Street East and Bruce Street around 6 p.m. on Sept. 27 when they came across a person they knew was wanted on a warrant.
Police conducted a traffic stop and arrested the suspect. While searching the vehicle, police say they found three crossbows — a breach of the accused's prohibition order.
Joseph Boyer is charged with:
- Possession of Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order x4
- Failure to Comply with Probation Order x3
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 25, 2024.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Boyer is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
