Man faces impaired driving charge

Police have charged a 37-year-old man after vehicle goes in ditch. The full text of the release follows:

On April 19, officers with Patrol Services charged 37-year-old James Forrest with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80+).

At around 1 a.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the 600 block of MacDonald Avenue. Upon arrival officers observed a car in the ditch and a man, later identified as the accused, standing nearby. Through the investigation officers determined the accused was driving the vehicle. He provided a breath sample into an approved device, registering a fail result.

He was arrested and later provided two additional breath samples into an approved device, registering two fail results. He is charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80+). He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on May 16, 2022.
