Police have charged Jesse Marrello following an alleged sexual assault that occurred on Elliot Road on Tuesday evening, states a news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
The 32-year-old has been charged with sexual assault and as well as drug and weapons related offences.

On Feb. 15, 2022, officers with Investigation Services, Patrol Services and the Emergency Services Unit arrested 32-year-old Jesse Marrello in connection to the Elliot Road Investigation.
During the morning hours, [it is alleged that] the accused touched an underaged victim for a sexual purpose, threatened them and struck them with a firearm. Around 5 p.m., the victim was able to get away from the accused and contact police.
Officers attended a residence in the 0-100 block of Elliot Road, and after securing the area, took the accused into custody. A subsequent search found the accused to be in possession of approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine, and small quantities of substances believed to be psilocybin and fentanyl.
He is charged with:
• forcible confinement
• assault with a weapon x2
• pointing a firearm
• possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x2
• use of a firearm in the commission of an offence
• sexual interference x2
• sexual assault x2
• possession of a controlled substance x3
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing. The investigation is ongoing.
