Man charged with impaired driving after providing samples to police

Sault Ste. Marie Police have charged Jordan Parniak with impaired driving after receiving a tip about a potentially impaired driver on Brown Street on Dec. 14.

Parniak provided two samples with fail results both times.

On Dec. 14, 2021 officers with Patrol Services charged 33-year-old Jordan Parniak with impaired driving.

Around 11:00 p.m. officers responded to a call of a possible impaired driver in the area of Brown Street. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle, matching the description provided, parked on Brown Street. Upon speaking with the accused, officers developed grounds to believe his ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

He was arrested and later provided two samples into an approved device, registering two fail results. He is charged with impaired driving – alcohol and/or drugs, impaired driving – blood alcohol concentration (80+) and dangerous operation.

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 7, 2022.
